One more cool update from the APR BBQ...

Thanks to Brett for clarifying...James R and Ed P. are the ones developing the board. THEY ARE NOT ASSOCIATED WITH APR. They just used the APR picnic as a forum to do an official release of the BETA test board. By summer the kinks will be worked out and they will be ready to sell them to us all. As for KAOS, AZ inquiry...it is a great question and needs to be asked of Ed or James. To tell you the truth they are focusing on just the V1 integration for now and the other components will follow behind. The link I mentioned may be down now but it is correct and was just recently registered. They said to keep trying the site for several days until it works. Hope this answers a few things.

As for being appropriate to display the info in the trip area, we all noted at the bbq that the 996 has the boost info in digital form as one option. ![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Now. The boost info IS limited by the refresh rate of the trip display to some degree; how much is to be determined exactly. The desire to put the info there though is meant to be more diagnostic, as as such can implement some cool features. It will for instance be able to display the info in any format, such as psi, kPa, etc. It will do vac, and also can do peak hold, and be much more accurate in the display of info than a gauge (in decimal places)...
It is not necessarily meant to replace an analog gauge for track use, or other rapid data needs. Much as one reads the temps at certains times rather than every moment, the trip display is for maintaining a watch on engine conditions. For instant/constant visual data aquisition, it's near impossible to beat a dial/needle. Some may see the desire to have both in their car.
