Default Paging any Auto-RX veterans.....

I picked up some Auto-RX to clean the engine in the upcoming month or so. Just wanted to ask any of you: what dino oil did you use for the rinse portion of the process that Auto-RX specifically recommends to use dino oil? Given that the oil is only in there for 1500-2000 miles, and I don't plan on any track days during that time, I'm sure I'm safe with just about any oil close to 0W-40. But, doesn't hurt to ask.

(For my regular oil, I'm using Motul 8100 Ester E-tech 0W-40).

Default 30 weights are ok. I used Mobil Delvac 15w-40, Motorcraft 5w-30, and Havoline 5w-30 for non-syns.

It is supposedly better to use the thinnest possible oil and as you know, dino for the rinse phase. I could rattle off a few diesel 10w-30 oils, but you probally won't find them anyway. I'd hit the Motorcraft 5w-30 or if you want a 40wt, find a Wal-Mart that has auto service they usually stock the Shell Rotella T Synth 5w-40. That is a HC or "Hydrocrack" synth, perfectly ok for ARXing. As far as treatment goes, I suppose yopu got 1 bottle. You need 10z for the inital treatment. I'd use about 9 instead and save 3z for a maintenance dose after rinsing. That's basicly what I do instead of a 2nd full treatment...a few maintenance doses. PS ARX is awesome.

Default thanks for the suggestions. I have one bottle and figured I'd do it around the 40K mile point.

The maintenance doses you suggest sound good too, even if I didn't do the full process and just did the cleaning prior to the next regular scheduled change.

Given the sludge letter, I see this as a must, and a very easy way to maintain the life of the engine.

It works on sludge, "turbo turds" and cleans the ringpack for incredible compression.

Default Hadn't come to that point yet, but again, your suggestions seems good.

ARX just seems to recommend a new filter being good enough. So with our smaller filters on there to start the process, then the bigger one to collect the junk at the rinse phase, I should be golden for another 40-50K miles.

When 1st I heard about ARX, I had sworn against treatments for good reason. It really rocks though.
