Default Painted Lowers

Will someone who has had their lowers painted please tell me what you paid. I just bought a 1.8TQM at $1,150 over invoice, which I am not happy about. The positive is that the dealer called his paint guy and got him to paint the lowers all around for $500 (the body shop thought they were doing it for the dealer, not the customer). I think this is a good price, but can someone make me feel better and confirm it for me. Thanks in advance.

Default I paid $200...if you weren't happy paying that much for the car, why did you buy it from that dealer

Don Rosen wouldn't drop another $300 off the price of my car, so I called Huntingdon Valley and they said they would, so they got my business.

Default Re: then why did you buy from that dealer?

Because the dealer is close to my house and totally cool with chipping the car. As you know, some dealers make life difficult when repair time comes if they know the car has been chipped. They also let me take three cars for extended test drives, and the salesman wasn't some 21 year old punk who didn't know what he was talking about, so I felt I was willing to go a little over what some guy on the phone would give me.

Default Thanks for making the world of car sales just a little bit more civilized :-)

Your loyalty to the dealer when they went out of their way to accomodate you, reinforces how they treat you and future customers:-D

Default Re: Painted Lowers

I just got mine painted at a local dealer bodyshop. My car was in for replacing the rear quarterpanel since my neighbor decided to back into it, so the rear bumper and one rocker panel was already going to be off the car. So I was charged $200 for the paint job, and another $230 for materials and removal and install of the front bumper and other rocker panel. So $430 for removal, repair of chips, sand, prep, paint and the paint guy redid the front end when I saw that the prior chips were still a little too prominent.
Now where do I go to Clearbra the bumper and lowers??
