Default Passport 8500 X50 (blue LED) v. original Passport 8500

I'm about to purchase the new 8500 X50 and am trying to decide between the blue or red LED's. Anyone know how bright/easy to read the blue LED equipped detector is compared to the red one (say an original 8500)?

I went from an 8500 to the new Solo S2 and by comparison (and I know they dont use the same type of screen) the Solo S2 is VERY hard to read, especially during the day. That is why I'm a bit weary of the blue color (the Solo S2 has a blue display)... although I do think the blue one looks "cooler" than the red...

Anyway, any info would be appreciated... Thanks.

Default i have the regular 8500, and I have no clue how people say it is hard to read. IT IS FINE, even in

bright, full azz arizona sun.

I never said the 8500 was hard to read... it was fine... the Solo s2 is hard to read and that's why i'm having a tough time deciding weather or not to get the blue LED'd 8500 X50...

Anyway, yes I agree... the red LED 8500 original is very easy to read, I just dont like the red LED's .

Are you considering spending $50 more for blue, which doesn't even match?

Default Valentine is a much better radar detector...

Car and Drive has tested it for years, it has been shown to be the most accurate. It's also red like our interior lighting so it matches. Also, once you have tried the arrows you will wounder why all systems are not using it.

http://www.valentine1.com</a
