my boss is a full time family physician and director of medical informatics at a large hospital. He just bought a house that cost easily over $500k. He drives a 5 year old saturn sedan. It doesn't even have power windows. Some people just absolutely do not care about cars.

audis are for the somewhat eccentric. we know a good product and didnt spend more than its worth. the general public is unaware of its cost and only remembers "sudden unintended acceleration" form 1986 5000's

because the Audi brand just doesnt have enough recognition. An uniformed female friend of mine ventured to call my car an "Olympic" LOL. that was good for a few minutes of laughter.
BMW and MB, on the other hand, have such brand recognition, that you get more buyers who dont necessarily know anything about the cars, but purchase it out of brand recognition.
If you bought an Audi, its more likely because u knew something about the car, than because u knew only about the four rings...
