phatbox cradle
ok... got my phatbox, installed the software, plugged in the cradle, inserted the disk (as instructions) but the only light that shows is the red one... any ideas? I have tried all the troubleshooting things... but no use...

i think if you have certain cradles, you need to install a specific driver..
check the phatnoise website for driver installs...?
the green light will only go on when your computer has actually recognized the cradle+disk as an external device. if you're running an older operating system like windows98 (or perhaps even 2000) you may not get the full "plug n play"
effect until you've installed an appropriate driver.

what OS? plugged mine in (XP), ignored all the popups about new hardware, installed from CD
checked the list of drives under My Computer and saw 2 new drives, i a 200+mb and another about 18.2gb. all had phatnoise data on it.
as far as the green light, i dont think mine turned on until i was actually copying data onto the cartridge. in anycase, mine is working fine in my car.
just annoyed of the little chirp in the beginning when it finally plays the selection.

totally annoyed..
i wonder if it's possible to replace the soundbyte it uses with some kind of silence or something.. it's annoying when a song kicks in and it's got a rad intro that gets interrupted by the *blurp*...
