I think he meant it to be a joke...

like, it sort of resembles the spokes of a wooden wagon wheel. haha hillarious :-\

On the topic of that second wheel, I think that looks pretty cool. I would have considered that on my A4 over the sport 5-spokes. It sorta looks like a large verion of the 15" Passat rim.
