Default Sad to say, but someone is probably going to key or...

otherwise vandlaize your car. The more you make it obvious you care that much, the more some waste case is going to want to f it up. It's extremely messed-up, but I've seen it happen too many times. Making it plain you want to protect your car just makes it a magnet for abuse. Or maybe thats just what it's like here in California. I'd like to think it's better somewhere.

Default Yeh, I'm serious, and I agree with you....

Like I said, I don't plan on using it often, and when I do, I'll make sure there's a low risk of mishaps. I'd really rather just park far away from other cars. What made me think of it was the cramped parking lot of my favorite B&B which is in a very safe place. I leave the car there for up to 3 days. The other vacationers are nice people, often older, with $$$ who are not likely to vandalize. They are likely to carelessly get out of their Caddys, MBZs, SUVs, and rental cars while struggling to carry stuff. That's when I'll use it.

There's no way I'd use it at a place like a shopping center. Too many jerks who'll act as you describe. Simply having a nice flashy new Audi is risky enough.

Whether I ever use it or not, the thing was fun to think of and build.

Reminds me of the side moldings on the new S4s. And we know the opinion on those. =]

Default Holy mother of gawd!!

That's just craaazzzaaayyy!

I think we're all pretty much car freaks here, and I know I love my car, but let me say, "I'm not worthy!"
I agree with basically what everyone else said. I have to give it to you for thinking of this and ACTUALLY building this - incredible.
Funny thing is, I have b. black, which is the most scratchable paint job, and I don't have it...might have to steal yours when I see it!
Heheh, what are you calling it? The Wade-O-Matic ding preventer?
