Pictures from today
drove down I-80 to shawnee this morning.. only 70miles away.. nice try.. here are some photos
On the way back though.. my V1 went nuts and it took me a while to realize why. I was doing about 85 mph.. passing a yukon.. when all of a sudden, my Ka band lights up.. i drop back.. and it disappears... few mins later.. i decide to resume my cruise.. and then.. once again, when i get infront of the Yukon.. V1 goes full strength!. this starts to freak me out.. i drop back.. and then i start to realize.. its just me and this white SUV on the road. It was a woman driving.. not a cop.. i get close and examine the situation.. she must have had the active cruise control on.. is that what caused my KA band to go nuts? pictures are included..

I don't think the Yukon has radar cruise control. She might has had a crappy radar detector that was
leaking all kinds of microwaves from the receiver.
A VG-2 (radar detector detector) dream she might have had!

I remember someone mentioning that, but I thought it was an LED thing
...which would mean it would only work with the brakelights since Yukons have the LED strip at the top but incandescent taillights.
Also, the Yukon doesn't have adaptive cruise control, so that can be ruled out.
Lastly, I belive adaptive cruise control it is laser-based, not radar-based.
So, I agree with hitec...it's probably a cheap radar detector emitting the Ka band.
