hi guys. I need your help! I posted earlier about a rough vibration at idle and in the lower rev range for my 2002 1.8t auto . I was poking around the engine and found what looks to appear as a missing vacuum hose. In the pic below, #12 has a "T" vacuum line coming into it from the engine block side with a braided hose connected to it. Those hoses are ok and connected. On the opposite side of the solenoid(#12), there is a green electrical connector and just next to the connector (nearer the firewall), there is a small 90 degree hose with a clamp on the solanoid side and the other end of the 90 degree connector is facing downward and is open. There is alot of grime in that area. Can someone please check their engine and see what belongs there. I don't see anything in the vac diagram for this. Please let me know if you need more info. Thanks in advance!

The hose connected to the bottom port of each valve is a common vacuum supply connection. Hope this helps.

line? That is exactly what mine looks like. Is that just a 90 degree rubber boot that vents to the air (circled part)? Thanks diagnosticator1. Do you have a diagram from Bentleys or anywhere else that shows how to put on the timing belt tensioner. I have a minor question as to what direction you must face the center (off center hole part) because it creates different tension the more you rotate it. Thanks again.

and see if it is open or if there is a hose comming off it... If you could pop your hood and take a peek, that would be great! Thanks again

Turn eccentric bolt clockwise to right in direction of arrow until a gauge -2- with dimension -a- (e.g. drill bit) can be passed between tensioning lever and tensioner housing.
Dimension a = 8 mm
- Hold eccentric bolt in this position and tighten pulley nut -1-.
Tightening torque: 27 Nm
