Default please someone help! i had this incident,,,can someone give me some help and answers!?

today, i was riding on the freeway and i was in fourth gear (tiptronic) and i forgot that i was in fourth gear at 60 mph, and i floored it until the little click thing at the end and it downshifted to 3rd gear and for like 6 seconds it was at redline the whole time at high speed on the freeway...not only that, but overall, the engine redlined alot today,,,do you guys think the 1.8t engine is strong enough to handle all this hard driving, or do you think it greatly reduced the life and unnecessarily wore down the engine? by the way, i couldnt hear it redlining bc i had my system's volume very high.
thanks alot...

Default when in tiptronic mode, the transmission shifts automatically to next gear at redline [more inside]

even if you don't shift it by yourself...

there is no way in hell that the computer/tiptronic would let you hold it in redline for that long, trust me, i've tried.

Default you probably reduced the engines overall life by

about 10 minutes over a period of 5 years ;p
relax.

Default you are fine. We also have a rev limited in our car. I've mis-shifted before...

from 4th to 3rd before (manual transmission), and other then looking like a doofus when the clutch engages, I haven't had a problems with my clutch or engine.
