Plug indexing?...

I just changed my ngk's, and I noticed a definite pattern on the plug. It was the same on all of the plugs. I don't know what direction it was in.
Would an indexing kit be of any use? I there an indexing kit that would work with our setup?
I never used one, but I know they exist and work.
TIA
Alex

Sure be sure to file them down to side fire as well

basically you lop off the electrode a little so you can see the (ROUND) part almost and then gap it in some. turns $1 plugs into fancy ones.
my corrado has fully platinum SIDE fire plugs they are like $15 at germanautoparts.com each.
you can do the same to el cheapo copper plugs and get the same effect they will just wear out faster.

indexing is a good idea but you might try this first. just file/cut whatever it down and gap it down some. with $1 plugs you can't lose much lol

Yep...
Don't need a 'kit' per se.. just get some spare plugs, mark where the opening is and see where it lines up. If it doesnt for that hole, try another plug..
Doesn't do much, and especially on the Audi since there are 3 intake valves (so hard to miss)...
Also, just get better plugs - the side electrode is too fat and covers the center. Denso Iridiums are optimally made, but don't work great if you are chipped unless you upgrade the ignition too.. Stock, they are great.. (there's a good book on ignition by Chris Jacobs - goes into all the details)
