10 years or until its too problematic
owned a 1983 gti and got rid of it in 2003. 200k+ miles 3 head/gaskets replaced (my fualt). didn't need it anymore since i took public transportation to work.
1st audi, financed, plan to keep as long as it will run on original engine (swap if cheaper), or if i get a new job and have a house secured, then it's an S4 dangit!

just leased TODAY! 42 months. 1st Audi. should go back just in time for B8 (or whatever)
or possibly get the final year of the B7 (or whatever you want to call it). Maybe the back of that car will have grown on me or they will have done something really cool with the ultrasport versions. I've been craving a B6 for 2 years and I finally was able to do it. Wish it had the 200Hp FSI, but I love the look of the B6 Ultra more than the 30 ponies and boring tail.

4-5 years... I put too many miles on to lease... I'd get a$$phucked by overmileage charges..
I keep until paid off, then decide what condition it is in and whether I should replace it. Although having a nice new car is very cool, having no payment for awhile is awesome.
