IMO it's a waste of money to buy and sell cars very often. You have to pay sales tax, you lose money on depreciation, etc. There will ALWAYS be some new car that catches your eye, and unfortunately cars are big money pits and typically the single largest expense for a person besides their rent/mortgage.
Of course, Im really on the other end of the spectrum compared to you, as I've owned two cars since 1999 and the second car was just bought 14 months ago.. and was already five years old when I got it.

Just b/c its old doesnt mean it can't be fun. I think Im going to drive a B6 until there literally just arent any around anymore. I KNOW my current car will get to 200k unless it is in an accident.
Plus, its so much cheaper than a new car. No payemnt, lower insurance, cheap and plentiful used parts... whats not to love??? B6 FTW!
