Default I don't have a choice but to spend money on "maintaining" it.

Mods have come to nothing with these ridiculous gas prices. But I'd still buy a few things here and there.

Default Enjoyment alone does not include the relevant financial considerations

IMO it's a waste of money to buy and sell cars very often. You have to pay sales tax, you lose money on depreciation, etc. There will ALWAYS be some new car that catches your eye, and unfortunately cars are big money pits and typically the single largest expense for a person besides their rent/mortgage.

Of course, Im really on the other end of the spectrum compared to you, as I've owned two cars since 1999 and the second car was just bought 14 months ago.. and was already five years old when I got it.

To each his own. cheers!

Default My car was built in February 2002, has 88k miles, and is getting a BAT this winter

Just b/c its old doesnt mean it can't be fun. I think Im going to drive a B6 until there literally just arent any around anymore. I KNOW my current car will get to 200k unless it is in an accident.

Plus, its so much cheaper than a new car. No payemnt, lower insurance, cheap and plentiful used parts... whats not to love??? B6 FTW!
