...and at the time I was a 944 owner, so I was all brand loyal and enthusiastic.
It's almost in the Porsche blood to reject an SUV out of hand. Um that's the deal with the carefully cultivated and strong strong car racing heritage. Their rally successes are in cars as well. They are a car company.
So they announce the SUV to their employees, and I was aghast. No! So executuves are mingling and I start-in on how the SUV was a bad idea, how about a bad-azz station wagon based on the 928?
It's always interesting when executives take it personal and get kind of mad at you. What!? The help telling us how to run the place?
Well, phoo on them, I drive an Audi now and I WAS RIGHT ABOUT THE WAGON! This SUV abomination is years too late anyhow and the market is very crowded. It also comes out as a VW product as well, though in a lessor version.
However, if a Porsche 400hp wagon was about to be released, that would be pretty cool. Really cool actually.
Oh well, hopefully Ford or somebody will buy them out and that will be that. When they lowered their racing involvement a few years ago, that had to be the writing on the wall.
