Default Possibilities for front end clunking?

The car makes this clunk sound from the front end, sounds like right below the drivers floor area, basically front end. It makes a clunk when starting from a stop and coming to a stop. Nothing during turns though, just starts and stops. Doesn't do it 100% of the time but close enough, I'd say 95% of the time it'll do it.

Any ideas as to what could be causing the clunk? Haven't had time to look underneath the car and this has been going on for a good few weeks now, probably close to a month.

Thanks!

Default Get it up on a hoist and start the hunting...

steering rack, tranny brace, bad tranny mount, tie rods, links, strut tower connections, etc, etc.

Default No hoist, planning to get it up on ramps to take a look Friday. Someone suggested it might

be a tranny mount.

Default I looked down from the top of the engine bay and seemed fine but don't know its condition

from the bottom. Hopefully will check that out Friday.

Default I'll post an update on Friday with lots of pics of irregular looking objects =P

Any idea what a tranny mount looks like? I've never seen one before...

Default Its a donut looking thing on a braket that connects to the tranny on one side...

and on the other side connects to the tranny crossover brace which is the large piece of metal with two humps in it that the downpipes cross over.
