I used non-reformulated gas and topped off the tank.
I did most of the driving no faster then 65mph (very painful in and of itself!, except for 70 miles at 75mph). I did one long trip (160 miles), two short (20 mile or so) trips, and a final trip of about 280 miles.
When I stopped for gas, I had 491 miles on the trip odometer, and 20 miles of range left.
On the 280 mile jaunt, I got an amazing 35.1 mpg. During the 280 miles, I came to a full stop only 5 times, otherwise it was all straight highway driving. I minimized all braking, and got lucky in that the few small towns I drove through I hit all of the lights green. Half of the driving was on two lane roads, the other half on the interstate.
I have a 2003 A4 quattro 1.8T automatic with no mods.
When I got gas, the range was 560 miles. I took a picture when I got home showing 550 miles left (attached) on range, and the 35.1 mpg I achieved.
Now that i've done it though, I won't do it again. Driving 65mph it took me an extra hour!

my average of approx. 18mpg. Anything to improve that and still drive like a race car?
