Hey all,

I just tried mounting my winter wheel/tire set on my car and I don't think I have enough clearance up front. Basically, the wheel fits and spins, but due to the placement of the wheel weights behind the spokes, there's less than a mm of clearance over the calipers up front. The wheels in question are Audi Swing 16x7" from my previous '98 sport package...

I checked with the person who did the mounting/balance and the weights are where they should be on the wheel, so it doesn't sound like I can move them. Even still, without the weights, I've only got about 3 mm of clearance over the calipers.

I thought these wheels should bolt up fine, but I don't feel comfortable with them having such little room to move. Any thoughts? How much clearance is enough? I doubt anyone else has tried mounting this particular wheel on an '02 3.0 yet, but any info would be appreciated.

Perhaps you could get spacers or get the weights that mount to the outside of the wheel.

Could you please post a picture of these wheels on your 3.0? I was considering a similiar application for winter tires.
