Default Power loss, Shakes and low RPM (2005 1.8T)

So today I was driving to work and when I hit 60MPH I felt a little jerk from tha car and power loss and the Check engine light started flashing. I shut it down and started it back up hoping for a reset or something, the light is still flashing. The owners manual says to keep driving the car avoiding hard accelerations and that flashing CEL could mean a damaged catalyc converter.

The car is a 2005 1.8T CVT A4 with 37K miles. I just got it not even 2 months ago and I already have to deal with this.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

It sounds like a CP failure to me. Is it a R version CP?

Default Maybe Ignition Coils

I had this issue w/ my '02 A4 where 1 or 2 of the coils in my ignition coil pack went bad. I had loss of power, and the check engine light flashed. It's a very straightforward fix that can be easily diagnosed. You should be able to find more information on ignition coil pack failure on this forum.
