When she cranked up cold (first thing in the morning) I got a terrible power steering noise while turning the steering wheel. Popped the hood open and noticed it was below the "min" level on the power steering dip stick. Added some in and noise was gone. My question is, is this normal for a car thats on 1 1/2 years old? Also, does this happen often on the B6's?

assures me "it's normal". I think it's embarassing. I've had the PS pump and the steering rack replaced and I still get that noise.
Not much help to you, I know, but you're not alone.

dealer eventually replaced entire steering assembly as they couldn't really figure it out. My car was only a month old when I had the whole thing replaced. They said there was a small leak, but I never saw any fluid anywhere.

two weeks ago when I had a/c on and was backing into parking place. Told dealer once, could not be duplicated, and kept quiet since so they wouldn't mess up smth else
