Price check on A4's please?!
Greetings all!
Having "spied" on the forums for several years now, I am officially in the market for my first Audi. I will be trading in my 1999 Passat 1.8t (at the time I couldn't afford an A4!) and am thinking about a 3.0 Quattro, 6 speed with the 1.8t quattro manual as my backup.
Ideally I would love to get a black (in order to keep the price reasonable, I'll stick with a no-charge color) 3.0 quattro, 6 speed with ebony interior (leatherette), moon roof, xenons and the sport package. I did a quick check on Kelly Blue Book and got an invoice of $31,746 with an MSRP of $34,985. My question is, would it be at all possible for me to get this car with these options for around $32,500 - $33,500?
I priced the 1.8t with the above options plus heated seats and got an invoice of $27,593, with MSRP of $30,320. However, I've always wanted a 6 speed, and this go around I'd rather limit my mods on the car to things I can pull off within an hour if need be. I realize my quotes above may not be accurate and accept any changes from those with better knowledge. I'd really like to keep the price between $30-$33k since I decided to be a public servant and not join a firm. While the work is rewarding, certainly the GS scale hurts the pockets!
I've seen several posts from Audi Sales folks here and appreciate any advice or help you can offer. I would be purchasing the car in either Virginia, DC or Florida, but would be willing to travel anywhere (including home - NYC, Mass, CT, wherever) if I could find a good deal. I eagerly await the opportunity to formally join the family here at AudiWorld!
PS: If you are an Audi sales person, feel free to contact me via e-mail...if all goes according to plan, I would be looking to purchase the car ASAP!

Most salespeople say about 5% over invoice is a "good deal..."
You may have a difficult time finding a 3.0 with leatherette and the Sports package. I've only seen one 3.0 with leatherette in my life. You may also have a difficult time finding a 3.0 6-speed...they seem to be somewhat rare, as well. Be prepared to accept a car with more or less than what you initially envisioned unless you order. But I think at this point you can only order a 2003.
I believe there are three Audi salespeople on the forum- Ed Palisoc, MattK, and April.
hope this helps.

Give Mattie Imports as call in Fall River, Mass...
ask for Steve Rodrigues and tell him Marc Miller said to call. Don't quote prices to him but tell him I said I got a great deal and that he might be able to something for you.
I got a 1.8, denim/ebony ette, sunroof, heated seats, sport pack, tiptronic, and xenons for $859 over invoice.

Thanks to you both
I visited a lot in Virginia and they had quite a few 3.0's with the 6 speed. Most had the leather/sunroof as a package, which meshes with what you guys have been seeing.
