If you look closely at the odometer, it is (like the clock and trip odometer) a digital display similar to that of a clock, where all numbers can be formed from the dashes of the number 8. On the odometer, it has the following pattern of dashes: 188888. That means that the hundred thousands digit cannot go higher than 1.
What, do they not expect the A4 to go to 200,000 miles? Hmm...

I guess it's good if you have a really high mileage A4 and want to sell it. Just drive past 200k and you'll be back to brand new!

Sorta like the early Explorers with only enough spots for 99,999 miles. In the digital age, I should be able to get to a million on the fancy dot matrix displays we've got.

The sig used to say "jealous passat" above it, but people got offended because they thought I was implying that the an A4 driver is superior to a Passat driver (when, in actuality, I was saying that I think the A4 is a superior car to the Passat). But, just to clear things up, I deleted that part.
