Default Question about Fluids?

2003 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8T
Tiptronic - 113k

Ok so i wanted to add some power steering fluid to my car. Up until now i have just used pentosin, but a buddy of mind gave me some free fluids so before i add, i figured i would ask the knowledgeable people here. He gave me Febi Bilstein NR.06161, which he said is the same this as pentosin ch-11s (which is what ive been using), can you guys verify this? i dont want to mix and match fluid if its going to end up costing me more in the long run?

he also gave me some total glacelf(auto supra)G12 anti freeze. Currently im running pentose antifreeze (the pink one). my cars water pump went out about 2 years ago, and at the time (along with the timing belt) we flushed the system and went with this fluid. Mainly because it happen late on a friday evening and i needed my car sunday morning for an important event and couldnt wait until monday for car part store to open. Until today, everything is fine (knock on wood)..so should i just stick with the current mix of pentose or can i add this fluid? or should i just add the vw g12 fluid?

any information would be appreciated. thanks

This is ok as far as power steering fluid: Bilstein 7.1 Mineral Base Audi Power Steering Fluid (see http://www.blauparts.com/audi/audi_f...ng_fluid.shtml), make sure your bottle is the same as the one pictured, if not, don't use it.

As far as the coolant, its fine, it is approved by vw/audi.

Coolant / Antifreeze Total Glacelf Auto Supra Pink/Orange Very Long Life ethylene glycol based with organic corrosion inhibitors. Contains no silicates, phosphates, chromates, nitrites, or boron. Approved by Audi, Mercedes, Saab, and VW. (1 Liter) 802658

Coolant / Antifreeze Total Glacelf Plus Blue/Green Long Life ethylene glycol based with organic and inorganic corrosion inhibitors (silicates). Approved by Audi, BMW, Porsche, Saab, and VW. (1 Liter) 802656

I personally stick with OEM branded fluids because they are not much more expensive (if at all when ordered online) than other brands. However, many people use aftermarket fluids with no problems.

Hope this helps.

Here is another version of the febi power steering bottle that is ok for Audi:

About mixing: mixing OEM and pentosin brand is ok. As far as mixing in the total, it is probably ok, but I couldn't say for sure.
