Default Question on dent removal

I just noticed what I would describe as a more like a wave than a dent on my cars rear passenger side door (right below the window.)

Anyone know if this can be safely removed by those dent repair guys?

Thanks

Default Hmmm....might need a better description of "a wave". I had paintless dent removal done...

Someone's door (probably an SUV) put a nice dent in my door right below the window. It's a tough spot to get to with paintless removal techniques (because of the crash bar in the door) but it can apparently be done.

Can you describe the dent more? What do you think caused it? They usually give free estimates before they do the work, so really no harm in calling them. Made my door look 100% normal again, best money i ever spent

Default it really depends...

on the particulars, but I keep hearing that non-invasive dent repair works well on minor damage.

Paintless dent repair works great. Had it done to 2 cars - Can't even locate the areas they worked

Default Y=Sin 2x type of wave.

I think he means the surface is slightly bowed inwards or outwards. Noticeable when light reflects off it. I have the same thing on my VW bug trunk.

Default As long as its not on a sharp edge or crease they can get it out...

I have a guy I always go to for dings. Sold my last car after 4 years of college parking lot abuse with zero dings. He even took out a ding on my hood from my mom closing the garage door on my car..(long story...)

They can do a lot but like I said, it depends. I would say the flatness of the door panels give you a very high chance of success with the paint less dent removal.
