someone else told me that GIAC seems to go after boost and not timing to make power.
he also made reference to the car not being able to take any more boost, which seems to corroborate the story.
failing all that, i think my best course of action is to let my mechanic look over the car to be sure nothing is failing, and then get an intercooler to bring the IAT's down. that may help recover power.
did i send you my 115/118 log?

advice. Just make sure you get some second, third, fourth, and fifth, opinions on that and if they all agree i'd look into that more. Keep in mind vag-com only reads up to 1.54 bar of boost so there is actually no way to read if the boost is maxed out or not from vag-com, you would need to read it with a boost guage. Most any software will exceed 1.54bar of boost.
GIAC definitely makes power with timing (or attempt to) in addition to boost. I have a few peopele's logs here retarding "12 degrees of timing". That's way too much.
I would go to another GIAC dealer to give you some advice on the timing. I checked the logs you sent and saw up to almost 9 degrees of retard. That annoys me a salesman told you that is acceptable. I would definitely try some other well regarded sources on this. Heck, just post your timing logs on the forum so you can get a complete evaluation. Maybe even dont mention where they are from so you can get it an impartial as possible. cheers! Mike
