Default Question on rotary headlight switch.....

I don't own a 2002 A4 yet but I believe you turn the rotary switch to low beam, pull out once to activate front fog lights, pull out again to activate rear fog light.

My question is....is it mistakenly easy to pull the switch to where the rear fog light is on and you're driving around all night looking *** end silly with one bright light that looks like a stuck on brake light and attracting the cops?

If so, I guess the answer is to pull the rear fog light bulb permanetly!

In use this is not a problem. The switch is well designed.

Default Re: Question on rotary headlight switch.....

Really presents no problem at all.

In addition to the pull-out's very definite detents (it takes definite intent on the driver's part to pull out to the front fogs and then pull farther out for the rear fog), the rotary switch's front and rear fog icons on the switch light up when each is activated. The rear fog's light is amber when lit, so there's no mistaking if you have it on or off.

That's great ! That's what I wanted to hear, especially the amber indicator!

What's the rear fog for? Is it just simply for reversing in the fog?

Default No it's so you don't get rear ended. If you've ever driven in...

...really thick fog, you've learned how to not drive too close to the car in front of you while also not letting them disappear into the fog. The rear light permits more safe distance between you and the other car.

I'm modding it so there are two rear fog lights (as long as the European setup is still there).
