Question on subwoofer boxes and folding rear seats (x-post from Audio Forum)

This question is directed at the guys who have installed sub boxes and in doing so blocked or otherwise made un-useable one or both of the folding rear seats:
What do you think of your 'loss' of functionality of the folding rear seat(s)? Something you can easily live with...or something you wish you hadn't done? Do you now think you should have found another place for your sub (ex, side panel)?
I ask because I am on the virge of my install (with only a single 10" JL sub)...and I wonder about the merits, from an everyday functionality point of view, of losing one of the folding seats versus the substaintial extra effort to do a good job and install in the side of the trunk.

I have 1 12 inch sub with a small box. First of all it sounds great with the bose stereo. Mount the amp in the side bin area. I did not notice a pain with the seats. If I have something that needs both seats I just take the speaker box out for the time being.

but ive never needed the space. Its not that big of a loss, still much space in the trunk, so if you only covered one side im sure it wouldnt be a problem, at least in my case.

theres a little hump in the trunk floor for the spare tire, and the boxes edge lines up right before it so im guessing thats what keeps it there. Never had a problem with it, and i drive pretty rough on my car too

to the right of where the factory sub is it will be out of your way and you don't losed any functionality of putting the back seats down. This is what I have done, and I carried 3 snowboards in my trunk with the driver side rear seat lowewred and nor conflict with the amp. I have had both boxes and tubes and must say that In my opinion ther tubes always sounded a little better to me. More of a deeper bass response, just my opinion...

years on my cars and my friends cars, yet have not attempted to install a sub with my bose system yet. Im scared!! How did you do it? Was it easy? Do you have a wiring diagram of your install. Splice before the amp? Are ohms a problem? Your response is greatly appreciated!
