questions about Xenon

Hey Guys,
I just got two Xenon bulbs from 2004 BMW 330Xi which is totaled.
They are Philips.

My questions are
1. Are they same bulbs as ours on our cars? If they are different, what's the difference between our bulbs and BMW's?
2. Can I put them on my car?

If they are same bulbs, I want to keep them as my backup.

Your bmw bulbs are D2S

I had a 330ci which i totaled as well. =(

But yea the bmw xenon bulbs are type D2S, but im not sure which the Audis are yet.

They should be either D2s or D2r. My guess would be D2S since they are projection...

Some of the newer Audis and BMW come with what is called a D1S bulb, where a "D2S" bulb is integrated into an ignighter. Therefore, if you're '03 Audi has this D1S system, you wouldn't be able to use the D2S bulbs in it.

D2S and D1S are used in projection systems, and D2R are used in reflector based sytems (Acura and Infiniti, for example, and some Mercedes)
