Default Questions/answers regarding the new Toyo T1R tires:

1). Yes the T1R is replacing the T1S as the Ultra High Performance "Summer" tire.
2). No it is not an "R" compound tire, the "R" disignation is just lettering like the "S" was for the T1S
3). They are not avalible in the US yet, should be around June. They are avalible in Canada due to their market is smaller and their "summer" driving season is shorter
4). The tire will be avalible in over 80 sizes ranging from 14" to 21"
5). No pricing yet, will be very close to the T1S pricing when release.
6). Weight will be equal or less than the T1S.
7). Changes in T1R vs. old T1S are too numerous to list here.....look for articles to come in all major magazine within the next 30 to 60 days (Press event in on Thursday March 31st)

Hope these clear up some basic questions about the tire. I know there has been some recent postings about this new tire, but if this spurs some interest, please e-mail me at youngc@toyotires.com with your questions. I am not always on this forum, so if you post a question here, I might not see it. You can e-mail me at either my personal e-mail or the Toyo Tires e-mail above.

Thanks....

Load ratings should be equal to the T1S or slightly better

and with the media launch on Thursday, I felt it was time for a little Q/A (no not T/A, at least not this time)

Default Re: Correct tire pressure?????????

What would you recommend for correct tire pressure on the new T1-R in 18" 235/40/18 for an A4 that weighs about 3400-3500 lbs. Others have told me that the Toyo's need more air pressure due to softer sidewalls. Currently I am running 39 PSI but not sure if I am too high or low?

BTW......I live in Canada and have the new T1-R. So far loving them and they are much quieter than I thought......also the wet traction is awesome.
