radar detectors..
hey, i dont know that much about electrical stuff in cars, so heres my question, i have a radar detector, its just one that you plug into the cigarette lighter. is there a way for me to run it straight to the battery so i dont have that cord running all over the front of my stereo.

Depends upon it's operating voltage...
if it is 12V DC, no worries. I have seen a few that step down the voltage inside of the lighter plug, then you f*cked. Like Ray said below, there are lots of discussion about this, but you should avoid running it straight to the battery; use a piggyback fuse.
