Default Has your head unit ever been replaced?

It sounds like you have the wrong code somehow. Dealer time?

Default Re: Has your head unit ever been replaced?

The serial number on radio card and the serial number on the actual radio are the same the dealer has verified that the four digit code number that I have for the radio is accurate

They did try and they say I have to get the radio reprogrammed and that will cost me $$$ so I might as well buy a new one according to them and new radio will cost me over $400-$500 CDN. There must be a way that I can get this repaired without paying.

Default I presume you're out of warranty then

How did it get into SAFE mode?

Default Could maybe swap the deck with someone who's still under warranty? :)

I'm sure that's not a good idea...
Not really sure what you can do if the thing won't take the code. Sounds like you'll be paying for one thing or another. Where do they want to send the deck for reprogramming, and what did they quote you for cost? It can't be as expensive as buying a new deck.

Default I would take it up with AoA if your dealership can't help you.

Your dealership's hands might be tied in this case. But if your car never went to SAFE while it was under warranty there is no way that you could know that the radio was defective.

If that does work, you can always try to buy someone's radio who went to an aftermarket one.
