Default Radio Problems....

Has anyone experienced any problems with their radio ALL OF A SUDDEN stop working, but the backlights to the radio still stay on even when the car is turned off? That seems to be the only problem. I figured that if there is a problem with the fuse, the backlights would be off as well as staying off when the car is turned off. Any input would be appreciated!

Default Common problem. pull fuse and reinsert, enter code....

there's a TSB issued to get a new radio as this problem can happen again and again! If you want a new radio don't pull the fuse as you will reset the radio, go to the dealer and show him what happened and mention the TSB on this problem...he will order you a new radio and it takes less than 10 minutes to change it!

Default Yeap...I went to the dealer yesterday and got a new one ordered...

My poblem was that I would go on "SAFE" mode for no reason. The dealer told me that some people are having the same problem as you spoke of and it is a software glitch. You can take it back and get a new one. Like I said I have mine on order. Its covered under warrenty.

Default me too

I am having this problem and the dealer replaced the speaker that was cutting out (the driver's side speaker) and it didn't fix the problem. I am due in for an oil change soon and am going to tell them about it again.

I have yet to see an official "fix" from anyone on this board...not sure if one exists at this point. Please let me know if you find a fix.

Thanks, Barb

Default Thanks for the help!

Dealership is going to do the fuse trick and then replace it if it happens again...

Default Mine did the same thing last night...

Called dealer and left service advisor a message so waiting on him to get back to me. Do dealers normally stock the headunit? I would try the fuse trick but the dealer I bought the car from didn't bother writing the radio code down in the manual.

Default

My dealer founded corrosion on the some connectors, cleaned them off, and the problem was resolved
