Raising Ground Clearance on 2003 A4 Avant
Is anyone aware of a way to gain 2 or 3 inches on the ground clearance of the Avant without having to spend too much on the suspension?
I don't want to mess up the odometer/speedometer by maxxing out the tire size but if that is my only option, what's the highest profile tire that can be put on the 17" rims (e.g. 235/55 or 235/65)? If I do modify the suspension, what exactly would have to be done to it?
If you're wondering why I just don't get an Allroad, it's because I can't afford it nor do I want to feed the gas tank.
Thanks!

Thats funny. I really don't know if anyone here can truefully tell you the best way to raise the
car without putting a new suspension/tires on.
That seems like the most logical steps to me.

winnar!
In the number of years I've been on AW, this is the first time I've heard that someone wanted to lift their car.
LOL.
But seriously, because of this, you're not going to find an easy option.
I think the only possible way you could do this is to wait until Stasis offers their CO kit. Since they are using Hypercoil springs, you may be able to use a taller spring in their hardware, but even then there are other some issues.

I've read a few posts where people stayed away from sport
or changed from sport to non-sport for snow clearance. But, have people actually asked to raise the car higher than non-sport? That I haven't heard, then again I've only watched this forum for the past 2 months. My time was spent mostly on the B5 forums before that.
