Default Rant- just checked the filter the dealer put on last week as part of my 30k service

They're still using the old, smaller "LANGZEITFILTER" (p/n 06A 511 561 B), bastards. Service advisor even told me to bring 5 quarts of my German Castrol, probably only put in 4.

Kinda disappointing that the dealers still aren't on the same page. It seems like some dealers follow the TSB for larger filter/Synthetic oil, some only follow the synthetic part.

Default I'd love to get a copy of that TSB specifying the larger filter...

Anyone?

Default Text from that TSB from an older post-

From CarreraAudi-
===========================
The 2004 Audi A4 and A4 cabriolet 1.8T engine (engine code AMB) starting with VIN 8E 4A146322 (A4) and 8H 4K014467 (A4 Cabriolet), require engine oil that conforms to Volkswagen Oil Standard VW 502 00. This is commonly referred to as "synthetic" oil and is available through your PDC as ZVW 352 540 S.

- Engine oil capacity with filter is 4.1 liters (4.3 Quarts)

- These vehicles also require engine oil filter - part number 0 68 115 561 B

All scheduled Audi Advantage maintenance services and topping off engine oil between services must use engine oil that conforms to Volkwagen Oil Standard VW 502 00.

One "synthetic" oil that conforms to the standard is Castrol Syntec, 5W-40 however, only ZVW 352 540 S will be reimbursed through Warranty.

IMPORTANT: Engine damage caused by using the wrong engine oil filter will NOT be covered under Warranty.

- Part number are for reference only; always check with your parts department for the latests parts information
===========================

So I guess that the dealer can interpret all of this as: the "sludge letter" mandates VW 502.00 oil for all 1.8T motors, the TSB (use of the larger filter) only covers 2004+ cars. Bummer.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a4gen2/msgs/623068.phtml">Original Post</a></li></ul>
