(update) So after the jack stand incident and running my @ss half a mile to the local pep boys...
to buy a 16" wrench (was thinking of getting a 12" but figured, wth right? ts always easier to go smaller) I finally cleaned out my Hyperboost DV that was installed 50,000 miles ago. Not bad at all even after driving it on the autobahn, from MD cross-country to AZ during Jan 05, and having driven it to CA for storage for a year and to drive it back to AZ.
The old grease held pretty well. It wasn't as "caked on" as I thought. I didn't have the (whats the name of that measuring device?) so I couldn't tell what the difference was. The rings were still intact, although I probably would have preferred to swap them out to new ones. I did the leak test per the Forge DV writeup and it held.
Still getting a bit of surging, so I suspect its my software or the N75J. Note: FWIW, I have not gotten any CELs or DTCs while using the "J" valve.

Yes, that is a close one. Good you where paying attention, and not injured, or worse. BUT....
in must be said:
The OEM provided car jack, is intended to lift the car only enough to clear the tire from the ground, for flat tire changing ONLY! When placed in the correct position, as explained in the owners manual, and used as instructed, the provided jack is suitable for that intended task, and that jacking task only. NO other use is advised, and is specifically not recommended.
Buy a proper floor jack, and a set of jack stands. Then use these too perform service work on the car. Never use the emergency jack for service work.

That settles it. I am removing the OEM jack from my trunk immediately.
I mean if I were ever get a flat on the road I would never trust it so why keep it. I have AAA so they can come and do the work for me with their strong jacks.
