Anyone know if the stock head unit has RCA outputs? I was originally planning to replace the entire system (Bose in my case) but I kind of like the 6-disc in dash changer and the stock look so I'll probably keep the head and just rip everything else out. Anyone put in an after-market amp with the factory head unit?

that provides the RCA connectors. My friend did this on his 2003 A4 and it works fine, though the output level is a little on the low side with the line outs.

If you do a search on Google for "F00E500014", you'll find a few vendors.

That looks like a 4 channel harness that maintains fade and balance...yes? I found a generic adapter meant to add after market amps to factory premium head units including Bose...it has individual level adjustments and such which might solve the output level...along with some tweaking on the amp gains.

And yes, my friend just boosted the gain on his amp a bit to compensate for the output level from the head unit - no problem.
