Default Did you order the kit from their website?

It's free. You pay for the testing when you send it in.

Default Zero Boron & high Magnesium is an old formula, looks like Belgian Syntec.TBN=1 is a worry.Switch

Iron wear on the other oils would have leveled out like is usually the case. I would switch back to 0w-40 based it being a newer formula. This oil represents an older formulation than the 0w-40. Does it carry MB 229.3 and VW503.01?

So will you be staying with this flavor of Motul, or going back to Ester E-Tech 0W-40?

Default Oil Curmudgeon.

Well, they've been around for a while and this is their "old" 300V formula, not the new "Double Ester". And no, it doesn't carry those approval/specs. It'd be more expensive then. I still think it did a fine job though and that's the point here. It worked for 11K miles. Viscosity is still very good. TBN may be low, but I expected that. Iron may have leveled, or not, with Red Line. In the end, very good for a "Race" formula oil.

I am using their 8100 E-Tech 0W-40 now.

Default Much better?? .... You used to not think too highly of M1 0W-40 with 10K OCI's.

I know it works though (my Dad's CayenneS 19K mile OCI with it). But this is an older formula with Motul's 300V series race type oils and it's 11K mile UOA is nothing to really criticize (especially coming from just under 4 qts of it in a 1.8t A4 and driven pretty hard).

Default I'm using the 8100 E-Tech 0W-40 now....

I knew it would be fine, but I wanted to try the 300V stuff. I have no worries with 10K+ mile OC's with the E-Tech 0W-40. I think I'll go 12K miles this time.

I'd still like to try the new/improved 300V 5W-40 "Double Ester" formula though.

Go back to the E-Tech with VW 503.01, VW 502 is for a beater car.
