Rear end clunking...

For the last few months, every once in a while, when I'm coasting in gear, then hit the gas, I get a sort of hesitation and clunk before pick up. I notice is most in 3rd and 4th, sometimes in 2nd. Seems to show most around 40 - 50 mph. BTW, I've got Quattro, 5M, and ~73K miles. I haven't changed my clutch or fluid, and don't think I need to at this point due to mileage and lack of slippage. I'm thinking it's a dif issue, but I'm really hoping it's something cheaper (wishful thinking). Any ideas? TIA.

I'll have to check the mounts, but it always feels like it's coming from the rear, not front or underneath me. I assume that if they are shot, I'll see/feel fluid on the body. Thanks for the insight.
