Rear fog light

Rear fog light
Do b6 models naturally come with a left-side-only rear fog light? My car does not show any errors on my cluster gauge for the rear fog light and I assumed the car only came with a single rear fog light...but it just looks so stupid unsymmetrical, like somethings wrong with my lights when I turn it on. I've seen it on a b7 with both sides having a rear fog light and it looks awesome.

a) you're not supposed to drive around with it on unless there are heavy fog conditions
b) it's designed to be asymmetrical so that drivers behind you do not confuse the rear fog with your brake lights.
I noticed recently that the B7 has dual rear fogs, I'm not sure why because they seem like brake lights. The C5 A6 always had dual rear fog lights, but being directly outside the license plate, they were too close together to be confused for brake lights.
Please, do not drive around with your rear fog light on unless it's absolutely necessary.

and yea i only use during fog/rain...but they already have space for it on the passenger side it just made no sense to not have it...now that I think about it ive seen alot of benz's with a single rear fog light to...the b7 is the only car ive seen with duel rear fog's.
But it makes sense so others dont confuse for brake lights.

For some reason my rear fog light doesn't come on anymore
I think it's because I spliced the wires to run the fogs independent of the headlights. This post reminded me that I need to fix that

not only is it dumb looking but i got pulled over for it. cop said my rear light was out!
i pointed to the switch and tried to explain it but he still wrote me the ticket! i turned it off and said go look at the rear now and he refused! lol what a ********

rant... H-A-T-E people who run rear fogs...
they are so annoying. I can count on one hand the number of days where a rear fog is justified over the past 20 years.
I'm sure in some areas, you may need em, but around here, not so much.
And more than anything, it gives the police probably cause to pull you over... and once you're pulled over, expect a search.
