Default Rear Seat Noise Revisited.

I applied some WD40 to the hinges on the rear seats as well as the locking mechanism, but I still hear that annoying rattling noise like its loose. Is there something else that could be the problem?

Default Did you use the red straw and really jet the WD40 into the innards of the seat?...

the actual place where it hinges is deeper inside the seat and cannot be seen from the outside. I had the same issue on mine, but after a couple of days the oil must have found it's mark because the sound stopped and hasn't returned.

Did you try putting electrical tape on the latch?

Default A thought...

The rear folding seats of both my old A6 and my current A4 weren't easy to latch when folding them back up. They would look OK, but the minute I hit the road, they would squeak incessantly. I would have to really slam them and make sure the little red tab was retracted.

Still makes noise when seats are folded down. So I don't think its that.

Default Could be loose items in your spare wheel well or something fell under the back seat bottom....

just pull up on the back seat cushion and see what's under there. I did this about 3 months ago and I found some items that fell from the trunk area.

Where do I pull on? The part that rests against the backrest?
