Rear squeeking noise is bloody annoying.....
Does anyone know what it is? Sounds like it's coming from the rear seats. Perhaps it's the lock for one of the rear seats. Anyone know what it is and how to fix it? You think the dealer might fix it?

Mine was from the latching mechanism...It's the metal on metal contact. If you unlatch it you can
see the wear marks on the metal studs that the seat latches onto. What I did, and has worked for almost a year now, is put some "duct tape-like" tape around the metal strip. The dealership kept trying to grease it but that only worked for about 2 days and then the squeak was back. I've also heard of other sources for the squeak, so you may not have the same problem.

funny, been searching for my intermittent squeek for quite a while as well, finally found
that the middle seat belt latch was causing a lot of noise. I just wrapped it with a cloth, and presto, no more squeeking. It was rubbing against the seat cushion.
I know others have had squeeking from the seat hinges, fixed with lube. I also had a squeek come from the rear light fixture. I greased the clips where the metal rubbed against metal and problem solved. Good luck.

had this problem 2yrs ago.. its the rear seat latch (solution inside)
what you have to do (or in my case the dealer did as part of an audi service bulletin) is to wrap some adhesive felt material around the latch bolt. The stuff they used was felt on one side and sticky tape on the other..they wrapped that around the patch post and voila..no more squeek ! =)
go to the dealer and its a free fix.. otherwise wrap some electrical tape or something around the post..it will be fine
