Default Rear tires bald at 6500 miles. Huh? Help!

I have an '02 3.0Q 6MT which I bought with freshly installed Neuspeed sport/Bilsteins with 18" RS4's and Pirelli P-zero nero all seasons.

I was shocked to find that both rear tires are down to the wear bars after only 7500 miles. The wear appears to be even. Last time I remember looking, they were OK. The front tires show the expected amount of even wear.

The prior owner says an alignment was done with the suspension install. The car was tracking fine before the tires wore; maybe a little bit of bump steer. I don't drive particularly hard.

Any insight? Just an alignment issue? Could something be wrong with the quattro system, e.g. the Torsen diff?

Your input is appreciated before I head up to Stasis auto for an evaluation. Thanks.

Default Toe in on the rear? I find Pirelli wear to be inconsistent

some last 8k, mine lasted 22k with agressive driving...

I've never done an alignment on our cars but if we can align toe-in on the rear that may be your problem.

I have the same tires and they seem to be showing the correct amount of wear after about 10K miles.

Default Tire Wear on Audi High

I have owned Audi's for 7 years and I have found that I have never got the expected wear out of any tires I have purchased. The Pirelli Nero M&S has a UTQG of 400 AA A, which is high for a performance tire. If you say you don't drive hard and both tires on the back wheels wore the same I think it's the tire. I have had a "so so" experience with Pirelli. The last set of tires I had on my 1999 A4 were P400 Tires with a UTQG of 420 A B and they only lasted 30,000 even though I had been told they would last at least 50k. I just wouldn't buy Pirelli, personally. I really like Yokohama and Dunlop. If you are looking for a high performance all-season with good wear you should look at Yokohama Avid H4's. That was the best tire I have ever owned.

Good to hear that you liked the H4s tires. I just ordered some.

Default Toe may be the issue

We do have that adjustment at the rear. I'm getting an alignment tomorrow, to see if that prevents me from eating my snows before the end of the winter.
