Default Regarding ESP-- a Detroit Free Press article stated that...

FWD with ESP is BETTER for driving in snow than AWD
without ESP... That their test drivers found it almost impossible to spin out cars with stability control.
So, after the obvious importance of having good
tires, the most preferable for winter driving is, in order, according to them:

1) AWD with ESP
2) FWD with ESP
3) AWD without ESP

Note--they're saying that stability control is
more preferable to prevent spinouts than AWD, but the combo is the best. Don't tell this to all the
other A4 owners over there without ESP!

They didn't discuss the different AWD systems out there, btw.

Default I'd believe it. Quattro does nothing to help you when braking, but ESP does.

For every time you accelerate, you have to brake.
