Default Removing Front Ashtray - Help needed

I'm trying to swap my interior trim and am unable to remove the front ashtray.

I've read all the various write-ups on removing trim and can't find a clear answer. Is it possible to remove the ashtray without removing the radio/ac units?

I see that a couple of people claim to have done it, but no details were given. I was able to move the ashtray around by removing the two bolts under the shift cover, but no luck with taking it out...

Default If you are swapping interior trims, you do not need to remove the front ashtray...

Just open ashtray, put both thumbs on bottom side of tray cover and all your fingers on top of the trim...
Squeeze and with some force slide trim rearward. The tabs will unlock and slide out.
Hope this helps

The easiest way to do it, is to remove the trim around the shifter (that pops off) and remove the two screws holding it in place, remove the radio and push the AC controls forward this should allow the ash tray to come out like nothing. Should only take 5 - 10 min, everything slides right out. Let me know if you have any problems.

That was easy! you're right, no need to take the ashtray out at all. Thanks!
