Default replace plastic temporary lug bolt with metal?

what is the easiest way to get/make a bolt (no shoulders, natch) that i can use when changing wheels, instead of the POS plastic bolt that stripped the first time i used it?

Default Are you talking about the plastic bolt *COVERS* that come on the wheels? You remove those first (m)

using the bolt cover puller in the spare tire tool kit. They don't unbolt - the normal lugs underneath them do.

...or were you referring to something else?

Default clarification - see within..

the jack kit includes a 4 inch plastic bolt that you thread into the top hole in the brake disc, before removing the other 4 bolts, and the wheel. you leave it in place as something to hang the replacement wheel on, then install the other bolts loosely, remove the plastic one, and then tighten all 5 to spec.

but the plastic bolt strips easily :-{ - or at least it did for this ham-handed person.

Ohhh that - I never even bothered; I just recruit friends to hold the wheel. Sorry about that...

Default just need to find out the thread pattern or dimensions and have a bolt threaded.

my father is a plumber and he has a machine that can do this and he is going to be doing this for me but he just needs the specs.
