Default Replaced my fuel filter the other day...

easy job, took ~30mins. Fuel pump doesn't whine anymore, which is a nice plus.

Default not really, it's quite simple

jack up rear end, remove 4 nuts holding plastic shield on, remove 1 torx screw holding the filter in place, and disconnect the 2 lines going in each end. One hint though is to make sure you depress the tabs on the plastic connectors fully before trying to remove them from the filter else you'll break one like I did =P

Dodged that fuel pump failure bullet! Isn't that a great feeling?

Default sure is - seems like I've dodged a lot of common 1.8T problems

only one that bit me was teh coilpacks, but that was after they had been replaced in the recall

Default How many miles do you have, and what made you replace the filter?

Wondering when I should be doing that myself...

Default also, as a caution, be careful when you take out the filter. older cars tended to shoot gas out so

watch your eyes and make sure you are away from fire or sparks. smoking while trying to get the filter out is probably a bad idea
