Replacing stock tires with 235/50 17 OK on 2003?
Hi,
Time for new tires, my husband has a set of 235/50 17's in the garage with almost no miles on them. Will they fit in place of the stock 235/45 17's? He's out of town and I don't want to have to have him deal with it when he comes home.
Thanks guys!

OMG a gurl!
They will fit, but your speedometer reading will be 3.7% too slow. When the speedo reads 60mph, you will actually be travelling 62.2mph.
I'd stay with the oem size if at all possible or something with a little less speedo error (I'm running 215/50/17 w/o any problems as my winter setup).

You'd be going from a rolling diameter of 25.32 to 26.25 inches - almost a 1" difference. That'll throw your speedometer off (and the odometer of course). Most tire resellers don't advocate more than about a 3% size difference.
