Ride quality: 17s vs. 18s
I'm considering getting new rims and/or tires for my car and I'm wondering how much ride quality suffers with 18-inchers. I'm not talking about looks here, I'm talking about ride.
Keep in mind that the streets where I live are, for the most part, crappy. Potholes and grooves everywhere. I have the sport suspension and I curse every time a pothole sends rattles through my A4's (and my) body.
I would be putting all-season tires on the rims because I'm only planning on keeping the car about a year longer and don't want the expense of buying winter and snow tires.
Thanks.

you can fit 18" wheels on your A2? why is your SN A4Driver and not A2Driver? ;)
difference by plus sizing +1 is marginal. Yes you need to be more careful and yes you do feel a little more of the road but overall the difference is slight and IMO the aesthetic factor outweighs the ride quality deterioration.
