i want to put my yakima rack (q-towers, bars, powderhound, and fairing) on my car. just got new q-clips to match the A4 sedan (Q5 clips for those who need them). anyway, i want to put something under the q-towers to prevent scratching. i'm thinking of something like the clear plastic strips they give you to go under the pads on the fairing. anyone know where i can buy this stuff? or something like it? i guess i could put some clear bra material on there, but i want to be able to easily take it off in the spring... thanks in advance for any info.

I've got myself a Yak rack with fairing for hauling a canoe. But I'll never leave it on for more than a week at a time. It has great rubber pads to begin with but some people have had indents when they leave it on for long periods. It's so easy to put on and off by yourself - why risk it?

Dont get me wrong. Michael Knight was the man, I freaken LOVED that show growing up. Knight Rider was probably a major influence with my love for backing out the back of a semi tractor-trailor going 60 MPH.
Cant do it the Audi, Quattro wont let you.
