Took the A4 in for it's 10k check up and had a list of things to get fixed.
Told them about a rough idle in the 1200-1400rpm range. During cold start and any other time.
His explanation was that it's the secondary air induction.
Is he full of **** or what?

My '03 A4 1.8T idles REAL rough sometimes when I start it, I mean the sound of the vibrations hurts your ears. Any ideas what it is? And does Audi change you oil before 10k miles, thats my only guess to my problem, that the oil is worn out.

My 1.8T idles loud when I first start it in the morning, so much so that I can make the house windows rattle slightly. I just tell everyone it's on account of the V12 I got lurking under the hood.

It's only in the 1200-1400 rpm range. even in gear. Just a lot of low frequency noise!
It sucks!

It idles very smooth but the exhaust is still raunchy. I wondered if they did it on purpose for effect. Or maybe it's for emmission control?

it's freakin' ridiculous. side mirrors, my hands, cups...etc everything shakes and trembles.
maybe it could be a health hazard.
